Announcement of PhD and Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026

The Greenland Research Council and the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources hereby invite applications for PhD fellowships (3 years) and postdoctoral fellowships (2 years).

The fellowships aim to strengthen research development and the recruitment of researchers, as well as to consolidate high-quality research in Greenland. Fellowships are available within all scientific disciplines.

The Greenland Research Council supports research with a strong local foundation and relevance to Greenlandic society. Applicants are therefore encouraged to describe how their project contributes to Greenland’s National Research Strategy and how local partners and stakeholders will be involved throughout the research process.

Who can apply?

Applications are invited for:

  • PhD fellowship (3 years)
  • Postdoctoral fellowship (2 years)

Applicants must be affiliated with a Greenlandic research environment and meet the requirements set out in the guidelines.

1 October 2026

Applications must be completed using the official application form and submitted together with the required appendices as one combined PDF file. Applications may be submitted in Danish or English.
