En relativ ny metode er bombedatering. Bombedatering bliver mest pr\u00e6cis hvis den baserer sig p\u00e5 en lokal referencekronologi. En referencekronologi etableres ud fra materiale med kendt alder, og kendt fangsttidspunkt. Der findes ikke nogen referencekronologi for Gr\u00f8nlandske farvande, s\u00e6rligt ikke for dybhavet.<br \/>\nI dette projekt vil vi anvende s\u00e6lk\u00e6ber indsamlet af Gr\u00f8nlands Naturinstitut gennem de sidste 60 \u00e5r. For alle k\u00e6berne findes der information om fangsttidspunkt, fangststed og s\u00e6lens alder. K\u00e6berne er derfor et perfekt materiale til at etablere en referencekronologi.<br \/>\nLidt materiale udbores fra hver en tand i hver k\u00e6be, og m\u00e6ngden af radioaktivt kulstof (14C eller radiocarbon) bestemmes. Ved at g\u00f8re dette fra nok s\u00e6lk\u00e6ber kan vi bestemme hvorn\u00e5r den s\u00e5kaldte<br \/>\n\u2019Bombepuls\u2019 findes i hver k\u00e6be, og pr\u00e6cist hvorn\u00e5r \u2019Bombepulsen\u2019 ses i det gr\u00f8nlandske f\u00f8denet. Referencekronologien vil dermed g\u00f8re det muligt at bestemme alderen p\u00e5 f. eks. finhval, pukkelhval, narhval, Fabricius sorthaj og gr\u00f8nlandshaj meget mere pr\u00e6cist end man kan p\u00e5 nuv\u00e6rende tidspunkt. Yderligere vil referencekronologien kunne anvendes i p\u00e5 mange andre arter fra det marine milj\u00f8 der er sv\u00e6re at aldersbestemme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Metoder for inklusion af samfundet og formidling overfor samfundet:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Resultaterne vil blive publiceret i et videnskabeligt tidsskrift.
