Tang kan anvendes direkte til konsum, hvilket er velkendt i Gr\u00f8nland, men tang kan ogs\u00e5 anvendes i f\u00f8devareindustrien, i kosmetik, til dyrefoder og g\u00f8dning. Endvidere har der de senere \u00e5r v\u00e6ret en stigende interesse for at anvende tang til energiform\u00e5l. Anvendelsen af tang til forskellige form\u00e5l, og prisen der kan opn\u00e5s, afh\u00e6nger bl.a. af hvilke stoffer tangen indeholder. Der er b\u00e5de eftertragtede og u\u00f8nskede stoffer. Det er kendt at indholdet af indholdsstoffer varierer gennem \u00e5ret, men det er ikke tidligere unders\u00f8gt under arktiske forhold eller for alle de arter der er relevante for Gr\u00f8nland.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e6rv\u00e6rende projekt unders\u00f8ger variationen af indholdsstoffer over \u00e5ret i de vigtigste tidspunkt for h\u00f8st til en given anvendelse, og de vil blive stillet til r\u00e5dighed for alle med interesse for tang-h\u00f8st.
