Det er desuden fundamentalt for en optimeret og b\u00e6redygtig udnyttelse af ressourcerne. I dette projekt unders\u00f8ges bl\u00e5hvillingens udbredelse og betydning for andre pelagiske arter (dvs. fritlevende i vands\u00f8jlen) i \u00d8stgr\u00f8nlandsk farvand.<\/p>\n<p>Bl\u00e5hvillingen er en lille torskefisk, der er udbredt i det meste af Nordatlanten, hvor den lever midt i vands\u00f8jlen (300-500m dybde) og s\u00f8ger f\u00f8de prim\u00e6rt i form af zooplankton. Den foretager lange migrationsvandringer mellem gydepladserne, der hovedsageligt ligger vest for de Britiske \u00f8er og til sommerf\u00f8deomr\u00e5derne, der er spredt ud over det meste af Nord\u00f8st Atlanten. Den har v\u00e6ret genstand for et af verdens st\u00f8rste fiskerier, som dog har vist sig at v\u00e6re ekstremt variabelt. I Gr\u00f8nlandsk farvand har bl\u00e5hvillingen de seneste \u00e5r v\u00e6ret observeret hyppigere, og er en potentiel kandidat til et fremtidigt fiskeri. Til trods for at fiskeriet efter bl\u00e5hvilling har v\u00e6ret et af verdens st\u00f8rste, er der p\u00e5 nuv\u00e6rende tidspunkt meget begr\u00e6nset viden om de mest basale sp\u00f8rgsm\u00e5l omkring dens livshistorie, specielt omkring Gr\u00f8nland, hvilket besv\u00e6rligg\u00f8r r\u00e5dgivningsprocessen. Dette projekt klarl\u00e6gger en r\u00e6kke af de processer, som har indflydelse p\u00e5 bl\u00e5hvillingens tilstedev\u00e6relse omkring Gr\u00f8nland og beskriver dens interaktion med andre sameksisterende arter.
