Call for Proposals: PhD and Postdoctoral Stipends 2024

The call for proposals for PhD and postdoctoral stipends 2024 has now been published. A total of DKK 9.4 million is allocated to support research development and researcher recruitment in Greenland. Deadline for applications is 1 October 2024.

Greenland Research Council and Greenland Institute of Natural Resources now invite applications for PhD (3-year) or postdoctoral research stipends (2-year). The aim of the stipends is to support and develop researchers’ careers and foster excellence in Greenland research.

The grants can be applied for within and across all scientific areas, and there are no thematic limitations. Applicants must have a research professional affiliation with a Greenland research environment.

The PhD and postdoctoral stipend programme is financed by the Government of Greenland through the fiscal account for PhD study research training (account 40.96.03) and by the Danish State through the fiscal account for supporting Greenland research (account 19.55.05.30). The grants are awarded by the Greenland Research Council and administered by the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources (GINR).

The application deadline is 1 October 2024 (at 24:00 Greenland time).

Greenland Research Council invites you to participate in our webinar on the call for proposals for PhD and postdoctoral stipends on 27 June 2024, 10:00-11:00am Greenland time. 

During the webinar we will go through the call, and there will be time for questions. You will hear about the following, among other things:

  • Greenland Research Council and the PhD and postdoctoral grants programme
  • Application requirements
  • Budget framework
  • Assessment criteria

The webinar is aimed at all potential applicants and others, who might have an interest in hearing more about this call. The webinar will be held in Danish and English.

The invitation may be forwarded to potential candidates, employees at relevant institutions and other who might be interested.

Participation in the webinar is free of charge and does not require active registration.

The webinar will be held on Teams and will not be recorded.
