Det modtager 10% af den globale afstr\u00f8mning fra floder, men det indeholder kun 1% af den samlede havvolumen. Unders\u00f8gelser har vist, at afstr\u00f8mningen fra land driver en tredjedel af prim\u00e6rproduktionen i det Arktiske Hav. Afstr\u00f8mning fra land og indholdet i dette vand har stor betydning for marine \u00f8kosystemer i Arktis.<\/p>\n<p>Dette nyskabende projekt vil unders\u00f8ge hvordan, hvor og hvorn\u00e5r forskellige n\u00e6ringsstoffer, kulstof og kv\u00e6lstof bev\u00e6ger sig fra land til havet. Dataindsamlingen vil foreg\u00e5 i Kobbefjord, Sydvestgr\u00f8nland, hvor koblingen mellem elve, s\u00f8 og fjorden udg\u00f8r et enest\u00e5ende og lettilg\u00e6ngeligt pr\u00f8vetagningsomr\u00e5de. Vandpr\u00f8ver fra elve, s\u00f8 og fjorden vil blive indsamlet i forbindelse med en intensiv feltkampagne, for at bestemme hvorn\u00e5r og hvor n\u00e6ringsstoffer og kulstoffer er til stede. Desuden vil det blive unders\u00f8gt, hvordan disse bev\u00e6ger sig gennem systemet fra jord til ferskvand og videre ud i fjorden. Dette er et samarbejdsprojekt imellem to gr\u00f8nlandske institutioner: Gr\u00f8nlands Naturinstitut og Asiaq \u2013 Greenland Survey, som kombinerer de fysiske og biologiske aspekter af naturvidenskab for at unders\u00f8ge, hvordan n\u00e6ringsstoffer og kulstof transporteres fra land til fjord.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Metoder for kompetenceopbygning i form af inklusion af samfundet og formidling overfor samfundet:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Dette projekt er et samarbejde mellem de eneste to naturvidenskabelige forskningsinstitutioner i Gr\u00f8nland, GINR og Asiaq. Projektet vil udnytte faciliteterne og igangv\u00e6rende forskningsaktiviteter p\u00e5 de to institutioner, samtidig med at kombinere de lokale kompetencer og viden. Fire naturvidenskabelige bachelor- og kandidatstuderende deltager ifm. pr\u00f8veudtagning i Kobbefjord. Resultater og fund vil blive inkluderet i kurserne p\u00e5 kandidatniveau &#8220;Arctic Marine Ecosystems in a Changing Climate&#8221; og &#8220;Greenhouse Gases and Climate Effects in the Arctic&#8221;, som er en del af Arctic Science Study Program (ASSP), som tilbydes i Nuuk.<\/p>\n<p>Dette projekt har til form\u00e5l at udgive mindst \u00e9n peer-reviewed artikel om en kvantitativ vurdering af ferskvand, n\u00e6ringsstoffer, og organisk stofstr\u00f8mme fra land til hav og virkningerne p\u00e5 fjordproduktionen. Projektet og dets resultater vil blive formidlet p\u00e5 nationale (f.eks. Greenland Science Week) og internationale (f.eks. AGU\/EGU, ASSW, ASLO) konferencer, workshops og m\u00f8der. Projektet vil ogs\u00e5 blive formidlet ved hj\u00e6lp af sociale medieplatforme (f.eks. Twitter, Facebook).
