Ved etablering af mindre infrastruktur og boligbyggeri, baseres projekterne typisk p\u00e5 lokal<br \/>\nerfaring og de meget sparsomme tilg\u00e6ngelige data. Denne praksis leder ofte til dyre eller<br \/>\nmangelfulde og utilstr\u00e6kkelige l\u00f8sninger.<\/p>\n<p>Som led i projektet unders\u00f8ges hvordan jordens egenskaber \u00e6ndrer sig med stigende temperatur,<br \/>\nog hvor store s\u00e6tninger der vil forekomme n\u00e5r permafrosten t\u00f8r. Mange af de gr\u00f8nlandske<br \/>\nbysamfund er bygget p\u00e5 gammel havbund, og jorden indeholder stadig salte fra havmilj\u00f8et som<br \/>\ns\u00e6nker jordens frysepunkt og \u00e6ndrer jordens mekaniske egenskaber. Salin (saltholdig) permafrost<br \/>\nfindes i store dele af Arktis, men p\u00e5 trods heraf er der begr\u00e6nset kendskab til disse materialers<br \/>\nmekaniske og termiske egenskaber. Permafrostens opt\u00f8ning accelereres ved kontakt med vand<br \/>\n(f.eks. dr\u00e6ngr\u00f8fter omkring veje, naturlige s\u00f8er og vandl\u00f8b, samt i kystzoner ved kontakt med<br \/>\nhavet), og projektet fokuserer derfor p\u00e5 salin permafrost i kontakt med vand.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e5 basis af den indledende unders\u00f8gelse af en r\u00e6kke jordarter fra Gr\u00f8nland, udv\u00e6lges typiske jordarter,<br \/>\nhvorp\u00e5 dergennemf\u00f8res en r\u00e6kke fors\u00f8g med varmetransport ved forskellige temperaturer og<br \/>\nsaltkoncentrationer. Disse fors\u00f8g vil danne basis for etablering af en model der kan benyttes til at<br \/>\nberegne \u00e6ndringer i jordenes egenskaber n\u00e5r temperaturen stiger og permafrosten t\u00f8r.<\/p>\n<p>TARAJULIK udf\u00f8res i samarbejde mellem Danmarks Tekniske Universitet i Danmark, ARTEK og KTI i<br \/>\nSisimiut og Asiaq &#8211; Greenland Survey i Nuuk. Ingeni\u00f8rstuderende i Sisimiut vil blive inddraget direkte<br \/>\ni det eksperimentelle arbejde, s\u00e5 fremtidens gr\u00f8nlandske ingeni\u00f8rer f\u00e5r et f\u00f8rsteh\u00e5ndskendskab til<br \/>\npermafrosten og dens egenskaber. Desuden vil TARAJULIKs resultater i form af tekniske parametre<br \/>\nog beskrivelse af permafrostens egenskaber blive gjort tilg\u00e6ngelige for den Gr\u00f8nlandske bygge- og<br \/>\nanl\u00e6gssektor i en simpel og frit tilg\u00e6ngelig online database.
