Denne formodning er ikke belyst tilstr\u00e6kkeligt grundigt, og viden om omfanget af de \u00f8kologiske konsekvenser er begr\u00e6nset. Derfor er der stort behov for yderligere unders\u00f8gelser af de direkte og indirekte \u00f8kologiske konsekvenser af klimaforandringer i Arktis. Dette g\u00e6lder ikkemindst for det marine habitat der er af stor \u00f8konomisk og kulturel betydning for befolkningen i Gr\u00f8nland, og desuden er et vigtigt omr\u00e5de for mange dyrearter.<\/p>\n<p>I Arktis er det marine habitat hel eller delvist d\u00e6kket af havis det meste af \u00e5ret. Havis er et vigtig habitat for f.eks. s\u00e6ler og isbj\u00f8rne, men ogs\u00e5 for mikroskopiske alger der blomstre hvert for\u00e5r og danner kimen til den arktiske for\u00e5rsopblomstring i havet, som har stor betydning for de n\u00e6ste led i den arktiske f\u00f8dek\u00e6de, hvor store pattedyr, fisk og fugle lever af de mikroskopiske alger. Derudover spiller havis en vigtig rolle til forst\u00e5else af det globale klima, da havisen fungerer indirekte som en fysisk pumpe, ved at tr\u00e6kke drivhusgassen CO2 ud af atmosf\u00e6ren og sende det ned i dybhavet. Dermed fungerer havisen som en vigtig transport\u00f8r af CO2 fra atmosf\u00e6ren til havets dyb, og i takt med at havisen forsvinder, forringes mulighederne for at optage CO2 fra atmosf\u00e6ren betydeligt. Det er vigtig at forst\u00e5, hvilken rolle havisen spiller for det globale klima for at forudsige, hvilke konsekvenser et \u00e6ndret klima har for det Arktiske \u00f8kosystem og den gr\u00f8nlandske befolkning. En reduktion i havisudbredelsen kan \u00e5bne op for kommercielle muligheder, som kan bidrage positivt til den gr\u00f8nlandske \u00f8konomi. Det g\u00e6lder bl.a. efters\u00f8gning af olie og mineraler og muligheden for nye transportveje med store skibe gennem Nordvest- og Nord\u00f8stpassagen.<\/p>\n<p>Dette projekt bidrager kun til at belyse en del af de mange ubesvarede sp\u00f8rgsm\u00e5l, der findes omkring havis. Men det er en vigtig brik for at g\u00f8re os klogere p\u00e5 konsekvenserne af de globale \u00e6ndringer, og det er n\u00f8dvendigt at kende de biologiske og fysiske processer, som foreg\u00e5r i havisen for til fulde at forst\u00e5 konsekvenserne af potentielle \u00e6ndringer i milj\u00f8et omkring havisen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PostDoc-studerende: Dorte
