I dag selekteres vha. udstyr p\u00e5 store fisk, men hvis rekruttering til bestanden fortrinsvis sikres af store fisk, er det muligvis ikke den tilgang der sikrer den bedste udnyttelse af bestanden. I dette projekt vil vi unders\u00f8ge om torskelarver fra store moderfisk har en st\u00f8rre overlevelseschance end larver fra sm\u00e5 moderfisk.<\/p>\n<p>Niveauet af tungmetaller i en torsk h\u00e6nger sammen med fiskens st\u00f8rrelse. Denne \u201dtungmetal signatur\u201d overf\u00f8res til de enkelte \u00e6g, og senere, n\u00e5r torskelarven danner sin \u00f8resten, vil signaturen ogs\u00e5 overf\u00f8res hertil. Derfor vil det v\u00e6re muligt at estimere om en fiskelarve kommer fra en stor eller lille moderfisk ved at m\u00e5le niveauet af tungmetaller i larvens \u00f8resten.<\/p>\n<p>Projektet tager udgangspunkt i Kapisillit, hvor der fanges ca. 100 gydemodne hunner af forskellig st\u00f8rrelse (40-100cm). Indholdet af tungmetaller bestemmes i fisken og \u00e6ggene. Efter gydes\u00e6sonen fanges fiskelarver p\u00e5 tre forskellige tidspunkter \u2013 f\u00f8rst, sidst og midt p\u00e5 larves\u00e6sonen. Niveauet af tungmetaller bestemmes i larvernes \u00f8reste, og ved hver lejlighed bestemmes det hvor stor en andel af larver fra store og sm\u00e5 fisk der overlever.
